A Matter Of Perspective

I missed work again on Monday. I love having days off, but I wish I was spending it shopping, traveling or just doing something fun. Instead, I spent Monday having my blood drawn, seeing my hematologist (again) and another CAT scan. I used to be this confident person. Confident with school, career plans and other things in life, but my aplastic anemia is constantly wearing me down. For the past few days, I've been more stressed, worried and had more "what ifs" than I can remember. These days, I am fighting to be positive, and I try getting some inspiration by talking to my closest family and friends who never fails to remind me that life is beautiful, encourage me that I'll be cured, and tell me that I'll live to be 90.

I miss the days when life was simple. I miss the days when my worries were studying and passing an exam or finishing a school project. It is inevitable that as one grows older, problems and issues are multiplied to a hundred (or more). Or maybe it depends on one's perspective? Was life ever simple in the first place?

Although there are days I physically struggle, I do know that I still find my smile in the simplest things in life. Among them, a nice, quiet day at the lake with my pink Hello Kitty socks.

  1. napansin ko kaagad yung socks mo. nakakahiya mang aminin, i have one like that. hahaha! a friend of mine dared me to buy 5 pairs of colorful socks (yung mga hello kitty, winnie the pooh, etc), tapos, meron din siya. bawat pair ng socks ko, kinuha niya ang kalahati, pinalitan niya ng sa kanya. when we were still in college, laging hindi match ang suot namin na socks. :-D

(censya na, puro about me yung nabanggit ko, hehehe. napa-alala lang ako sa nakaraan dahil sa socks mo. :-) )

I seem to be the odd-one-out. I almost dont wear socks, kasi I've got big feet and especially since I conceived my son, shoes are straining my feet. I'm a sandals person. Pero you gave me the thought na I should own socks of Hello Kitty's and the like. It makes you feel younger ba? hihi...
